SPORTSPLEX FIRST RESPONDERS BASKETBALL LEAGUE

Ascension St. John Sportsplex invites you to join our First Responders Basketball League—built for those who serve our community every day. Whether you’re looking to stay competitive, build camaraderie within your department, or just get back on the court, this league provides the perfect opportunity.

Designed specifically for police, firefighters, EMTs, medical workers, and military personnel, the league offers a structured, high-energy environment with a full schedule with an 8 game guarantee (including playoffs), all planned in advance to fit your demanding schedules.

Teams will compete once per week on Thursday or Friday mornings, creating a consistent and manageable commitment throughout the season. There’s a place for everyone—whether you’re a seasoned player or just getting back into the game.

PROGRAM INFORMATION

SEASON INFORMATION

  • League Details

    • Games played on Thursday or Friday mornings
    • 8 game guarantee (1 game per week)
    • All teams advance to playoffs
    • Minimum roster size: 5 players
    • Each team will have one scheduled game per week, with the full season schedule released prior to the start of the league

    League Experience

    • Teams will receive matching jerseys (included in registration)
    • Compete against other local first responder departments for city bragging rights
    • Structured to provide a competitive, organized, and high-energy environment while still being flexible for shift-based schedules

HOW TO REGISTER

  • Registration Information

    • Register as a full team or as an individual (free agent)
    • Participants must be 18 years or older

    Team Registration

    If registering a new team:

    • Select “Register a Team”
    • Enter your team/department name
    • Create a team registration code for your players
    • Register yourself as the Team Captain/Manager

    Joining an Existing Team

    • Select “Join a Team”
    • Enter your team’s registration code (provided by your captain/department lead)

    Individual (Free Agent) Registration

    • Register as an individual and we will work to place you on a First Responders team
    • You may be placed with players from other departments or agencies to form a team
    • You are welcome to request certain people you’d like to be placed with

    Additional Notes

    • Players added to teams must be approved by the team captain/league staff

LEAGUE POLICIES

Check-In

  • All players must check in prior to each game with league staff
  • Only players listed on the official roster are eligible to participate

OTHER POLICIES

  • Payment & Refund Policy

    • Team Payment Requirement:
      • Before the first game of the season, a minimum of five players per team must have paid in full.
    • Refunds:
      • Refunds will only be issued in the event of a league or game cancellation.
      • Refunds or credits may be issued for medical exemptions with valid documentation.
